  About SAMP 2008
The series of international congresses on Stochastic Analysis and Mathematical Physics (ANESTOC/SAMP) began in 1995, on the initiative of the research group bearing the same name constituted by researchers from the Faculty of Mathematics of the Pontificia Universidad Católica of Chile (PUC) and the Santiago University (USACH). Five meetings have been organized since then, popularizing internationally our work in the mentioned areas. The publication of  the Proceedings of four of the five events by international publishing houses, especially by Birkhäuser and World Scientific, has contributed to their impact. The last congress of the series was held in 2002.
Great part of these activities was financed thanks to the program of Presidential Chairs, which finished in 2002. Till now it has not been possible to find another source of financing for the organization of the congresses ANESTOC, in spite of the interest of the international specialists in this topic. The Sixth Congress of Stochastic Analysis and Mathematical Physics relies now on the partial support of the Laboratory of Stochastic Analysis, composed by the PUC, USACH, and the Universities of Valparaiso and La Serena, that benefit from a project Ring of Science and Technology of the Program Bicentenary of Chile.
